Digital signatures are widely accepted in the commercial world and are one of the formal requirements for conducting any type of legal transaction. Additionally, it is also considered to be important evidence and well respected in a court of law.

Note In searching around for a good example to use here I had certain criteria. I wanted a well-defined set of operations that I could codify. These operations needed to be orderly and well understood (with no edge cases to worry about).
